The arrival of the paddy and bajra in the mandis of Haryana is picking up and as many as over 15,44,702 tonne of paddy and 2,93,010 metric tonne of bajra has arrived in the mandis during the current kharif season so far.

A spokesman of the food and supplies department said out of the total paddy arrival, 9,76,469 tonne had been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 5,68,233 tonne had been purchased by the private millers and traders, which included 1,94,208 tonne leviable and 3,74,025 tonne non leviable paddy.

Hafed had procured 3,99,846 tonne of paddy, food and supplies department had procured 3,03,167 tonne, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 1,00,690 tonne, HWC 34,845 tonne, FCI 1,078 tonnes and Confed had purchased 1,36,843 tonnes of paddy.

Kurukshetra was holding the lead with the arrival of 4,62,800 tonne, followed by Karnal 3,34,962 tonne, Fatehabad 2,14,814 tonne, Kaithal 1,78,799 tonne, Ambala 1,24,974, Yamunanagar 89,800 tonne, Sirsa 43,517 tonne, Panipat 33,249tonne, Jind 27,530 tonne, Panchkula 16,066 tonne, Sonipat 7,608 tonne, Hissar 5805 tonne, Faridabad 4,050 tonne and Mewat 644 tonne of paddy.

Similarly, out of the total bajra arrival, 2, 74,162 metrictonne had been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 18,848 metric tonne had been purchased by the private traders.

Giving details of the procurement of the bajra, the spokesman said Hafed had procured 1,05,955 metric tonne, food and supplies department had procured 25,341 metric tonne, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 67,096 metric tonne, HWC 40,770 metric tonne and Confed 35,000 metric tonne of Bajra.
