DK Shivakumar

Doddalahalli Kempegowda Shivakumar, commonly known as DK Shivakumar, is an Indian politician and a member of the Indian National Congress. He has served as a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) and Member of Parliament (MP) in Karnataka.

Shivakumar was born on May 15, 1962, in the southern Karnataka town of Kanakapura. He began his political career as a youth leader and later joined the Indian National Congress. He has been elected as an MLA seven times from the Kanakapura constituency in Karnataka.

Shivakumar has held several positions in the government, including Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Medical Education in the Government of Karnataka. He has also been the president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.

Shivakumar has been involved in several controversies over the years, including allegations of corruption and money laundering. In 2017, he was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on charges of money laundering, but he was later released on bail.

Despite his controversies, Shivakumar remains a prominent figure in the Indian National Congress and continues to be a popular leader in Karnataka, particularly in the southern regions of the state.
