India has the potential to increase exports to Russia by seven times if it can tap into the markets for food, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and machinery. However, the current trade relationship is heavily reliant on oil, leading to a trade deficit. To boost exports, India and Russia must establish a modern rupee-rouble settlement system and improve ease of trade in competitive sectors.
