Trai and DoT have agreed to launch the CNAP service, showing caller name and number for incoming calls. It will be active for all users but can be disabled. Implementation will start with 4G and 5G networks to combat spam and fraud calls. Operators must establish secure databases and new devices must support CNAP. Trai has also taken steps to protect user privacy.
