BSE closes 27.56 points up on May 17

Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 27.56 points up to stand at 20,274.89. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 17.40 points up to stand at 6187.29. ABB Ltd and Crompton Greaves were among the top gainers with an increase of 21.01% and 9.13% along Siemens Ltd. and Glaxo Smith Kline Consumer Healthcare Ltd. with an increase of 8.99% and 6.49% respectively, while the top losers include Motherson Sumi Systems and Colgate-Palmolive Ltd with a decrease of 4.11% and 3.56% along with Sun TV Network Ltd. and Jain Irrigation with a decrease 3.17% and 2.94% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 2.44 points at 11,202.29 while the banking sector is up 63.21 points at 15,192.45 and the realty sector is up 37.62 points at 2,029.37. The Indian currency is down 0.17% at Rs 54.87 per dollar.
