Orissa finance minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadei has expressed his dissatisfaction over the award of the 13th Finance Commission stating “the recommendation for the state is unfavourable”.

“The state’s demands have not been considered by the Commission,” he said, pointing out that the state’s share has come down to 4.787% in the award against 5.16% in the 12th Finance Commission.

The state has demanded a total of Rs 2,20,524 crore, he said, adding that most of the state’s demands particularly special projects, enhancement of royalty on minerals have been ignored.Orissa is going to get a total of Rs 78,974.90 crore during the five-year period of the 13th Finance Commission. The state will get Rs 69,366.10 crore towards its share from the central taxes. During the 12th Finance panel, the state was awarded Rs 36,942.80 crore.
