The All India Marwari Yuva Manch (AIMYM) will hold for the first time a national business-to-business (B2B) exhibition, Tradex08, with an aim to encourage young Marwari entrepreneurs from Jharkhand and elsewhere.

The AIMYM will also organise its national conference in Ranchi between December 25 and 28.

The AIMYM national conference, which takes place once in every three years, is being held for the first time in Jharkhand.

Supported by the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FJCCI) and the Jharkhand Small Industries Association (JSIA), the four-day Tradex08 will see participation of around 3,000 delegates in the age group of 18-45 years from 550 AIMYM branches spread across the country.

Talking to FE here recently, AIMYM Jharkhand president Nandkishore Agarwal said the 3,000-odd delegates of the Marwari community would have the chance to interact directly with the 50-odd business entities representing industries like IT, textiles, restaurant chains, educational institutions, etc.

“While a delegate can hope to return with something worthwhile in the shape of a dealership/franchisee deal, companies putting up stalls too will have the opportunity to interact with prospective young Marwari entrepreneurs in one go and strike business deals with them,” Agarwal said.

The AIMYM, in association with FJCCI and JSIA, will showcase Jharkhand in a separate pavilion, which apart from highlighting the state’s industries, activities, opportunities and products will also house 50-odd stalls represented by local entities interested in widening their business networks.

“Only the companies, which desire to appoint franchisees/dealers at different places, will be accommodated in the Jhakhand pavilion,” said Mukesh Khetan, a member of the Tradex08 organising committee, speaking to FE over phone from Kolkata.

Besides Tradex08, the four-day convention will see participation of dignitaries like Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and Govindacharya. Eminent personalities will speak on different topics ranging from economic to political issues and business opportunities in Jharkhand.

Formed in 1977 in Guwahati, the AIMYM with around 25,000 members is headquartered in Delhi. Almost 70% of its 550 branches are located in the eastern region.

Orissa tops the region with 110 branches, while Jharkhand and Bihar have 56 and 55 branches, respectively.

At the national level, the AIMYM, funded by the National Marwari Foundation, runs ambulance services, artificial limb camps, and is responsible for running permanent and temporary drinking water projects across the country under Amrit Dhara .
