He may not be very happy about cost overruns in building a brand new 747 Air Force One for use of future US presidents (he has threatened to ‘cancel’ order due to cost overruns), but that did not stop Donald Trump from visiting the Boeing’s North Charleston facility in South Carolina for the unveiling of its 787-10 Dreamliner model today – and, according to him, ‘talk jobs’. The new Boeing aircraft will be sent to customers from 2018. The Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner is a huge jet that can carry over 300 passengers. This model is likely to attain a cult following according to some analysts and the company itself is saying that it has as many as 149 orders from buyers that includes Singapore Airlines, United Airlines, British Airways and Air France. Boeing tweeted, “Looking forward to debuting the 787-10 #Dreamliner, the newest member of the super-efficient 787 family.” At 224 feet long, the new jet is 18 feet longer than the previous 787-9 model and is 15 percent more fuel efficient than its competitors, the company says. Here is what Donald Trump said at the event:
1. Trump starts by gruffly saying, ”USA! I love South Carolina. We have the greatest people, we have the greatest spirit in the world. Now all of a sudden we have plants moving back to the country. Our people will be put back to work.”
