AAP MP Bhagwant Mann seems to be controversy’s favourite child. Mann, who was suspended from the Lok Sabha for shooting a video of Parliament premises, on Thursday allegedly provoked his party workers and volunteers to throw journalists out of his rally for a asking a question related to Sandeep Kumar’s explicit video. Mann was addressing a rally in Bassi Pathana, Fatehgarh Sahib when he asked media persons to leave or people will throw them out. Following which, AAP volunteers tried to snatch camera and also manhandled journalists, who in order to escape the ordeal had to run out of the venue. The AAP member reportedly arrived three hours late at the venue, after which his twenty-minute speech criticised the media heavily.

Meanwhile, party member Santokh Singh Salana tried to intervene in order to pacify the situation, to which Mann did not concede. He grabbed the microphone again and went on to accuse a journalist for taking bribe. Reacting to the humiliation faced by the people of the Fourth Estate, the Chandigarh Press Club condemned the “attack” and might meet the DGP of Punjab in order to lodge an FIR against him. The club in an unanimous statement also said that it will boycott Mann’s press conferences while barring him from entering the premises of the Club. They have also demanded action be taken against him by AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
