While heavily-armed Bangladeshi commandos today managed to kill six terrorists and rescue thirteen hostages from the Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka’s high-security diplomatic area where suspected Islamic State militants were holding many people hostage since last night, Japan said that seven of its citizens who were together in the restaurant, could not be contacted.

Japan said on Saturday that one of its citizens had been shot and wounded in an attack on a restaurant in the Bangladeshi capital and then rescued.

“Seven other Japanese were eating together at the restaurant, but Japan’s government has not been able to contact them”, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Koichi Hagiuda said to Reuters.
