China has recently organised the inaugural World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, bringing together over 280 teams representing 16 countries for a three-day techno sports competition. Humanoid robots faced each other in table tennis, football, cleaning, athletics, medical sorting, and more. While many machines fell or malfunctioned in the middle of the race, their recoveries and adaptability drew attention. Here are some glimpses from the ‘robot Olympics’.
