The Indian Super League is all set to kick-start tomorrow. This year the league will see 10 teams clashing among each other in quest of the last victory. Among the latest additions in this season are Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC. Right from its start, the ISL had attracted a lot of foreign players. In the new season, the participation of foreign players has been reduced to eight from 11.Unlike the previous three seasons, the maximum number of foreigners allowed on the pitch at the same time will be reduced to five from six. Luis Garcia: The former Spanish football star Luis Garcia has played for Atletico de Kolkata in the ISL. Born in Badalona, Garcia was a part of the Liverpool side that famously beat AC Milan in the 2005 UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul. In 2006, he also won FA Cup with the Reds. In the inaugural season of the ISL, he scored two goals for Atletico de Kolkata in 13 appearances. In the field, his main position is in the wing and the other positions which he plays are attacking midfield and secondary striker. For ISL, the 39-year-old player has said it has grown in stature and he has been impressed with the improvement shown by local players. (Reuters)
David Sergio Trezeguet: The former French footballer who played as a striker was signed as the marquee player for the Indian Super League (ISL) franchise FC Pune City. In 1998, Trezeguet won the World Cup for his country and also took France to victory in the European Championship in 2000. In the inaugural season of the ISL, David Trezeguet scored for Pune City to defeat FC Goa by 2-0. The 39-year-old has scored more than 300 goals in his career. (Facebook) -
Alexandros Tzorvas: Alexandros Tzorvas, who is a retired Greek footballer played as a goalkeeper for NorthEast. The 35-year-old played for his country at the 2010 World Cup and the Euro Championships.Ηe began his career as a member of the renowned (domazos academy) Panathinaikos football academy. Tzorvas is now looking forward to mentor the young Indian Super League (ISL) side by sharing his experiences playing at the international level. Andre Moritz: Andre Moritz, the Brazilian footballer, has played for Mumbai City FC. In the 1st ISL, Moritz was hugely influential in the seven matches that he did play for Mumbai. Of course, one could not forget his hat-trick against FC Pune City which led them to victory by 5-0. Born on 6 August 1986, Moritz had represented the likes of Internacional, Fluminense and Crystal Palace. (Twitter)

Bernard Mendy: A retired French footballer, Bernard Mendy has played for Chennaiyin FC. He began his career in the academy of second-tier side Le Havre, making 57 appearances for the first team.Mendy has been Chennaiyin’s most capped player. The 36-year old also netted three goals including the famous bicycle-kick strike against Kerala Blasters in 2014, as per GOAL. In the field, his main position is right-sided full-back or wing-back.
