Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the US on Saturday, September 21, and attended the Quad summit in Wilmington, Delaware. PM Modi held “very good” meetings with US President Joe Biden, Japanese PM Fumio Kishida and Australian PM Anthony Albanese on the sidelines of the summit and exchanged views to deepen bilateral cooperation further for mutual benefits and the ‘peace, stability, and prosperity’ of the Indo-Pacific region. In his opening remarks at the Quad summit, PM Modi stated that the Quad is not directed against anyone; rather, it champions a rules-based international order and the respect for sovereignty. The Prime Minister is on a three-day visit to the United States, where he is scheduled to address a diaspora event on September 22 and participate in a roundtable discussion with CEOs. On September 23, PM Modi will speak at the Summit of the Future at the United Nations General Assembly.
