Carnage on Bastille Day: France attack in Nice killed over 84 after a gunman driving a truck ploughed into large crowds gathered in the night (10.30 pm local time on Thursday; after 2 am Friday IST) to watch the fireworks display. Men, women and children's bodies were strewn across the blood-splattered streets before hospital staff came and covered them with sheets or body bags and then removed them from the spot. World leaders expressed dismay, sadness and solidarity with France over the attack. Here is what they said:

"It is a tragic paradox that the victims of the attack people celebrating liberty, quality and fraternity.
