BlackBuck raises $25 mn from Tiger Global, Flipkart, Accel: BlackBuck, a business-to-business logistics startup, has raised USD 25 million (about Rs 167 crore) in funding from Tiger Global, Apoletto (DST-Yuri Milner's Founders Fund), Accel and Flipkart. The company had received USD 5 million funding earlier this year from Accel Partners and Flipkart. "BlackBuck would utilize the Series B funds to ramp up expansion, build products and set-up the team. 2. Bank of Baroda launches new term deposit scheme: State-run Bank of Baroda today launched a new non-callable term deposit scheme for over Rs 15 lakh and up to Rs 10 crore. Under the product called Baroda Advantage Fixed Deposits, investors will get higher interest than normal fixed deposits rate for similar amount, the government lender said in a statement. The rate of interest offered on this product is higher by 10 basis points for deposits over Rs 15 lakh but less than Rs 1 crore and 5 basis points for deposits of Rs 1 crore and above. India has world's 3rd largest base of tech startups: Google With more than 4,100 enterprises, India is the third-largest base of tech startups in the world and the number is set to grow manifold over the next few years, technology giant Google said today. Highlighting the boom in India's tech sector in recent years, Google India head Rajan Anandan said a connected India with access to the web will empower Indians further, helping businesses grow and create growth for the Indian economy. "At over 4,100 enterprises, India has the third-highest number of tech startups in the world, this number is expected to reach several thousand by 2020," he added in a blogpost. Google CEO to address SRCC students on December 17: Google CEO Sundar Pichai who is visiting India next week on his first overseas trip after taking over as the head of the tech giant will address Delhi University's Sri Ram College of Commerce(SRCC) on December 17. "We had invited Google CEO for an interactive session at SRCC and we have got a confirmation from Google about the same.
