Hot on the heels of launching the X100 series, Vivo is all set to launch an all-new lineup of S18 series phone in China come December 14, 2023. The lineup includes three models: the Vivo S18 and S18 Pro and relatively more affordable Vivo S18e. The product listing page is already live at the time of writing giving us a good look at design as well as some key specs of the Vivo S18 series phones.
Right out of the gate, the S18 and S18 Pro seem to share design aesthetics. It appears Vivo’s “aura light” is switching to a squarish design and while it’s not confirmed if it’s getting any upgrade over the Vivo V29 series phones, we can expect more intensity given how the setup looks. But we’ll see. The S18e looks like it will be missing out on it altogether. The E-model also has a flatter chassis and circular camera module in comparison. The S18, S18 Pro and S18e will come in a choice of three colours with hole punch cut-outs at the centre of the screen.
That screen will be 120Hz in the case of the S18 Pro, Vivo has confirmed. It’s also set to be the most powerful of the lot with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus processor under the hood. It’s also getting better camera hardware. Like the X100 lineup, the S18 Pro is in line to get a 50-megapixel main Sony IMX920 sensor and another 50-megapixel ultrawide. They will be joined by a third 12-megapixel 2x telephoto which seems identical to the one on the X90s.
The Vivo S18 meanwhile is confirmed to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor and a 5,000mAh battery. The S18e is getting a 4,800mAh battery with 80W fast charging baked in. Watch this space for more updates.
