Spotify is rapidly bringing fresh and new updates to its music platform. In the latest, it has announced automatic transcription of podcasts. Simply put, if you like listening to podcasts on the platform, be happier with the new addition.
The announcement comes on Thursday ahead of International Podcast Day, i.e. Sept 28. Spotify said, “We’re launching auto-generated and time-synced transcripts to more creators and shows so you can read along with an episode, making the transcripts more visually and textually accessible.”

Spotify is expanding podcast chapter support for improved episode navigation and revamping show pages to provide better podcast information to users.
It added, “We’ll be rolling out transcripts to millions of episodes in the coming weeks, and we’ll innovate more on this feature in the future, including ways to add media to transcripts.”
Recently, Spotify unveiled AI-powered translations for podcasts, preserving the original voices. As well as, also introduced Spotify Jam, simplifying collaborative party playlist creation for up to 32 people—making a perfect party companion, and sort-of Bluetooth speaker replacement.

How to Enable Transcripts on Spotify Podcasts?
- Open the Spotify app.
- Start playing the podcast episode you want.
- Scroll down to access the Now Playing View.
- Look for the transcript option.
- Tap the transcript card to activate it.
- Now, you can follow along with the transcript while listening to the episode.
Spotify also claims to be the “most-used audio podcast platform” across several key markets and “number one podcast publisher in the US”. The press release also adds that Spotify has grown over 10 times since 2019, and boast over 100 million regular podcast listeners.
