Redmi, a Xiaomi spin-off, is all set to host a mega event in China on November 29 marking its 10-year anniversary. And as is usually the case, it will also mark the arrival of a bunch of new hardware, some with the potential of launching elsewhere, too. The Redmi K70 series has been confirmed to be the showstopper of the event. The line-up will include three models: Redmi K70 and K70 Pro and the Redmi K70E. Now, Redmi has shared renders of the top-shelf Redmi K70 Pro ahead of launch while also revealing some key hardware specs.

The design of the Redmi K70 Pro seems like a throwback to the recently launched Xiaomi 14 with its flat chassis and prominent squared-out camera deck, though in the case of the Redmi, it stretches from one end to the other. We can see how the same phone could be turned into a Poco-phone at some point, so fingers crossed. Redmi is using premium glass and metal. The phone itself is being teased in black and white shades with a subtle depth effect, though rumour mill has it that there could be more options at launch.

What’s interesting is that despite the premium build and hefty hardware inside, the Redmi K70 Pro still manages to keep a slim profile. The phone is said to be just 74.9mm thick, which is kind of impressive for a phone of its class. The camera deck on the back is a bit chunky though. Speaking of which, there are three cameras headlined by a 50-megapixel main sensor with optically stabilised lens.

On the front, you’ll find a 6.67-inch display, possibly OLED with 120Hz refresh rate, and renders shared suggest it would have razor-slim bezels on all sides with a hole-punch cut-out at the centre.

Under the hood, the Redmi K70 Pro is confirmed to get Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor which is tipped to be paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Xiaomi’s new HyperOS could be running the show software-wise, but we’ll see.

The standard Redmi K70 is expected to have more or less the same specs and design with differences coming by way of cameras and possibly, charging speed.

The Redmi K70E has previously been confirmed to come with a flat 1.5K display with 12bit colour depth, 1920Hz PWM high frequency dimming support, and a peak brightness of 1,800nits. It is also confirmed to come with a large 5,000mm² stainless steel VC— largest on any Redmi phone. You’ll also get a 5,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging and MediaTek’s Dimensity 8300-Ultra under the hood.
