OnePlus is set to make its “foldable” debut and Oppo plans to launch its third foldable. But the catch is…these two are same phones.

OnePlus is nearing to launch its first foldable—OnePlus Open. As the reports surface of the product, several hinted that OnePlus could benefit from its sister company making foldables. However, now OnePlus has confirmed that both OnePlus Open and Oppo Find N3 are the same devices in an email, via The Verge.

Oppo has notably made and launched two foldables in the past—Oppo Find N1 and Oppo Find N2. However, OnePlus Open will be OnePlus “foldable” debut.

The Verge added that Oppo’s chief product officer Pete Lau, who also co-founded OnePlus, has directed both companies to collaborate on the development of a phone. This phone is planned for release under both brands in various markets. However, the email did not specify which phone will be launched in which market, but, it’s most likely Oppo Find N3 and OnePlus Fold. It is the next grand release from both brands, because.

Pete Lau was also seen in a video with YouTuber Unbox Therapy where “New OnePlus Folding Phone Exclusive First Look” was unveiled. Rest, the marketing is on as phone sets Oct 19 debut. OnePlus Open, Oppo Find N3: here’s what to expect

The primary screen on both phones could be 7.82” AMOLED, however, the cover screen could be 6.31”. Under the hood, the phones may pack up to 28GB RAM supported by up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset—in both China-exclusive and global pieces.

The only difference, most probably, between OnePlus Open and Oppo Find N3 could be the OS skin; the former may boot to Android 13-based Oxygen 13, while Oppo Find N3 may stick to ColorOS 13.1, based on Android 13.

In terms of camera, there could be a triple-camera setup: 50MP primary lens, 48MP ultrawide lens, and 64MP periscope telephoto lens. On the front side, a 32MP lens is expected.
