Today, Nothing announced that its upcoming Phone 2a Plus will be the world’s first smartphone to feature the exclusive MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro 5G processor. This breakthrough chipset has been meticulously co-engineered with MediaTek, the London-based tech startup said in a press release.
The Dimensity 7350 Pro 5G chipset uses TSMC’s 4 nm Gen 2 technology and boasts 8 cores running up to 3.0 GHz, offering nearly 10 percent faster CPU performance than the Phone 2a’s Dimensity 7200.
For gaming enthusiasts, the Nothing Phone 2a Plus promises a superior experience. It is equipped with an ARM Mali-G610 MC4 GPU clocking at 1.3 GHz, delivering 30 percent faster gaming performance than the previous model.
The chipset also supports advanced camera capabilities, including 4K video recording on both front and rear cameras, HDR images, and HDR10+ playback.
Aside from revealing the chip, Nothing also announced that the Phone 2a Plus has up to 12GB of RAM and the option for an additional 8GB through RAM Booster technology. The phone supports Dual 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi 6.
Lastly, compared to the base variant, the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro 5G processor offers up to 10 percent improved power efficiency, so we can expect longer battery life.
“With Phone 2a Plus, we had the opportunity to create a beefed-up version for savvy users who demand more processing power, and we also made some improvements that didn’t require hardware design changes. Finally, we wrapped it up with a new kick-ass variant that reflects these upgrades,” Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis said earlier.
Not only does the Nothing Phone 2a offer more processing power, it boasts cmf (colour, material and finish) level changes, too. All this and more will be revealed on July 31 when Nothing officiously launches the Phone 2a Plus in India.
