Microsoft Bing Search is currently down and inaccessible to many users, who are reporting difficulties in looking up information online. The outage also affects Microsoft Copilot, the GPT-4 powered AI chatbot.
According to Downdetector.com, the issue has been ongoing for several hours, but Microsoft has not yet provided an explanation for the outage or a timeline for restoring service.
Users attempting to visit Bing.com are encountering various issues: some see an error or a grey webpage with the Bing search pane, while others receive a message stating, “Bing isn’t available right now, but everything should be back to normal very soon.” Meanwhile, Copilot is stuck on the ‘Loading’ screen for some users, followed by an error message that says, “We are sorry but we’re unable to connect to the service at this time.”
The outage also impacts the DALL-E-powered Bing Image Creator tool, which displays the same error message as Bing Search. Additionally, DuckDuckGo, a privacy-focused search engine, appears to be experiencing similar accessibility issues.
As the situation unfolds, users are left waiting for updates and a resolution from Microsoft. The company has not yet clarified the cause of the outage or provided details on when normal service might resume. This disruption affects not only general search capabilities but also AI-driven features that many users rely on for various tasks.
