iQOO is all set to introduce its newest iQOO 12 5G in the Indian market. The all-new iQOO 12 5G will make its India debut today, i.e., on December 12 at 5:00 PM local time. The iQOO 12 5G is all set to become India’s first smartphone to come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Vivo spin-off iQOO claims, the iQOO 12 5G will also be the first non-Pixel smartphone in India to run Android 14 right out of the box. iQOO 12 5G will compete with other top-shelf phones including the OnePlus 12 and Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series in the coming days.

The new iQOO 12 5G will be launched today at 5:00 PM (IST). One can watch the live stream of its launch event on iQOO India’s official YouTube channel by clicking on the above-embedded link. According to a recent Amazon “leak”, the iQOO 12 is tipped to be priced at Rs 52,999 for 12GB/256GB and Rs 57,999 for 16GB/512GB in India. If true, the iQOO 12 would be priced more aggressively than its predecessor, the iQOO 11. But we’ll see.

The iQOO 12 launched globally (and in China) has a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and 1.5K (2800x1260p) resolution with 2160Hz PWM dimming support. Under the hood, you get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS4.0 storage. The phone’s global variant comes with Funtouch OS 14 (based on Android 14) and in India, iQOO will do away with the “hot apps, hot games” spam folders reducing bloatware on shipping devices.

Powering the iQOO 12 is a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast wired charging (no wireless charging). On the back, the phone has a trio of 50-megapixel, 50-megapixel, and 64-megapixel sensors behind a 23mm wide (with optical image stabilisation), 150-dgree ultrawide, and 70mm periscope-style telephoto (for 3x optical and up to 100x digital zoom). On the front, it has a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
