With the iPhone 17 reveal just under three months away, anticipation is building as rumors swirl about the potential enhancements and cutting-edge technology expected in Apple’s upcoming flagship lineup. Apple is likely to launch four different models in its upcoming iPhone 17 lineup: the top-end iPhone 17 Pro Max, the iPhone 17 Pro, the all-new iPhone 17 Air, and the standard iPhone 17 variant. All four iPhone models set to launch in 2025 are anticipated to feature ProMotion display technology, offering a refresh rate of up to 120Hz for enhanced scrolling and smoother video playback. This marks the end of ProMotion being exclusive to the Pro variants, as it’s expected to be available across the entire iPhone lineup. Although Apple has not confirmed an official launch date, tech analyst David Phelan suggests that the unveiling is most likely to take place on September 9.
iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max Price:
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to carry a price tag of $899, aligning with the current cost of the iPhone 16 Plus. Positioned between the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro, it would be priced higher than the standard iPhone 17—anticipated to start at $799—but lower than the Pro variant, which is likely to begin at $999.
There’s also speculation that Apple may raise the prices across the iPhone 17 lineup, driven by rising component expenses influenced by tariffs. Instead of attributing the increase directly to these external costs, Apple is expected to present the price adjustment as being justified by the addition of new features and updated designs.
iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max camera:
The entire iPhone lineup slated for release in 2025 is rumored to come equipped with a significantly enhanced 24-megapixel front camera—doubling the resolution of the 12-megapixel selfie lens found on the iPhone 16 series. This upgrade is expected to deliver sharper selfies and allow for tighter cropping without compromising image quality.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is likely to boast a trio of 48-megapixel rear sensors, including a Wide lens, an Ultra Wide lens, and a Tetraprism Telephoto lens. This would make it the first iPhone to feature three 48MP cameras on the back and could also usher in 8K video recording capabilities for the first time in the iPhone lineup.
iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max design:
Apple is rumored to be shifting its entire iPhone 17 series back to aluminum construction. For the first time since the company started differentiating between Pro and standard versions, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to feature aluminum frames—signaling a major material change for its premium models.
