iPhones come with a high price tag, and repairing them is also not an inexpensive endeavour. But Apple is changing this time. The Cupertino giant has confirmed that replacing the broken back glass on the iPhone 15 Pro will be easier and cheaper than on previous models. This is due to a new internal design that makes it possible to remove the back glass easily. This was first time introduced in iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus last year. This year this ease comes to the Pro models this well.
In the past, replacing the back glass on an iPhone required dismantling the device down to its component parts. This was a complex and time-consuming process, and it could only be done by authorised repair centers.

The iPhone 15 Pro features a new titanium framework, which is lighter and more robust than stainless steel. Apple has introduced a “new internal chassis architecture” that allows easy replacement of back glass.
Apple attributes the enhanced repairability of the iPhone 15 Pro to a “new internal chassis architecture” that makes its easily replaceable. Apple has confirmed on its US website that replacing the back glass of an iPhone 15 Pro will be cheaper than the previous iPhone Pro models.
The iPhone 15 back glass repair will cost $169 while the iPhone 15 Plus back glass will cost $199. The iPhone 15 Pro back glass will cost $169 while the Pro Max back glass will cost $199. Apple Care+ plan buyers will have to pay only $29 for the repair.
What does this mean for Apple consumers?
This shift in design means that iPhone repair costs are now more affordable for consumers. On Apple’s official support webpage, company states that replacing the back glass of an iPhone 15 Pro will come at a lower price compared to similar repairs on earlier iPhone Pro models. However, with the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple says that authorized repair centers will be able to replace the back glass quickly and easily, which could lead to lower repair costs for customers.
The new design of the iPhone 15 Pro is part of Apple’s broader commitment to making its devices more repairable. The company has recently announced that it will start providing parts and tools to independent repair shops, and it has also launched a new self-service repair program that allows customers to fix their own devices.
However, things have shot up for Apple Watch. Repairing an Apple Watch is now more expensive. Apple has increased the price of battery replacements for its smartwatches. Previously getting a new battery for an Apple Watch cost $79 but it now costs $99.
