“Headlines and troubles” is what defines Apple’s recent week quite aptly. While Cupertino had a mega launch at “Wonderlust” on Sept. 12, It also had to deal with France asking it to halt iPhone 12 sales units. 

Cupertino apparently denies the claims, but France is backed by other European countries. Amid all of this, Bloomberg reported that the company has asked its employees to rather not talk about iPhone 12’s radiation levels.

Pass no talk on iPhone 12 radiation levels: Apple

Apple has reportedly instructed its tech support team not to discuss radiation risks with consumers, telling them to say they “have nothing to share” and emphasize that phones can’t be returned or replaced after two weeks. 

This comes in response to concerns raised by the French regulator, stating that iPhone 12 devices exceed legal radiation limits. France’s digital minister has urged Apple to release a software update to reduce radiation levels, threatening to ban the device if not.

France not alone; Belgium, Germany, and Spain also join 

As Apple grapples with the situation in France, it faces the prospect of similar allegations in other countries. Consumer rights groups in Germany and Spain have voiced their worries about the radiation levels of the iPhone 12. 

Meanwhile, Belgium’s regulator has confirmed that it is currently “reviewing potential health risks” associated with the device.
