Samsung kicked off the wave of ultra-thin smartphones, and reports suggest Apple will follow soon with the iPhone 17 Air debuting later this month. In the meantime, Tecno has stepped into the arena with its first slim handset, the Pova Slim 5G, which is scheduled to hit stores next week. Despite its slender build, the device runs on a Dimensity 6400 chipset and houses a 5,160mAh battery, balancing style with power.

Tecno has set the price of the POVA Slim 5G at Rs 19,999 for its single configuration featuring 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The handset will go on sale exclusively via Flipkart starting September 8. Buyers can choose from three finishes — Sky Blue, Slim White, and Cool Black.

The Tecno POVA Slim 5G sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with curved edges, offering a 144Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling for smooth visuals and responsive touch. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and the device carries a MIL-STD 810H military-grade durability rating.
For photography, the phone is fitted with a dual rear camera system, headlined by a 50MP main sensor paired with a 2MP supporting lens, with the ability to shoot 2K resolution videos. On the front, a 13MP selfie camera handles video chats and self-portraits.
Adding flair to its design, Tecno has included an LED lighting strip, branded as “Dynamic Mood Light”, which glows for incoming calls, notifications, and other alerts, giving the phone a distinctive character.
Out of the box, the Tecno Pova Slim ships with HiOS built on Android 15, though the brand has yet to confirm whether future OS upgrades will be offered. The smartphone is equipped with 128GB UFS 2.2 storage paired with 8GB RAM, keeping it competitive in its price category. It also carries an IP64 certification, ensuring resistance to dust and the ability to withstand light splashes of water.
Yet, even with its slender profile, Tecno has fitted the device with a 5,160mAh battery that supports 45W fast wired charging.
