25-year-old Mexican beauty queen Fátima Bosch claimed the Miss Universe 2025 crown in a glittering ceremony hosted in Thailand on Friday. Here’s all you need to know about her.

Miss Universe 2025 winner: Fatima Bosch of Mexico has bagged the title of 74th Miss Universe in a glittering ceremony hosted in Thailand, on November 21, 2025. The 25-year-old emerged victorious after beating over 100 contestants from across the world vying for the title, including Miss India Manika Vishwakarma, India’s representative from Rajasthan. She was crowned by last year’s winner Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark.

Thailand’s Praveenar Singh was the first runner-up in the contest while Venezuela’s Stephany Abasali emerged as the second runner-up. Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo and Ivory Coast’s Olivia Yacé also made it to the Top 5.

Ahead of the finale, Miss Universe Thailand director Nawat Itsaragrisil lashed out at Fatima Bosch in front of other contestants for failing to post promotional content.

Nawat also called security and threatened to disqualify those supporting her. This led to Bosch’s walkout and others joining her.

Passionate about sustainable fashion

Hailing from Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico, Bosch has a degree in Fashion and Apparel Design at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and also pursued her studies at NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, Italy.

Passionate about sustainable fashion, she has experimented with transforming waste into art with purpose, and using discarded materials in designing.

Struggle with dyslexia and ADHD

Fátima was diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, and hyperactivity at the age of 6, which impacted her early education, but that didn’t bog her down. She made sure to turn these limitation into her strengths, becoming stronger and more creative as she grew up.

The beauty queen not just with brains, but with a purpose all her life, she volunteered for almost a decade with children suffering from cancer, and organised an annual Christmas toy drive at the Oncology Hospital of Tabasco.

The pageant was evaluated by eight esteemed judges including Badminton legend Saina Nehwal for whom judging the pageant was first such experience.

Fátima Bosch has become the fourth Mexican woman to win the crown, after Lupita Jones in 1991, Ximena Navarrete in 2010, and Andrea Meza in 2020.
