It’s a good day for Indian foodies as Butter Garlic Naan has been named the best bread in the world by the popular food and travel guide TasteAtlas in its latest list of the ‘Top 100 Breads in the World’.

Butter Garlic Naan declared best bread in the world

The Indian bread bagged the top spot after being rated 4.7 by the guide. The official website of TasteAtlas described the bread as – “Butter garlic naan is a traditional flatbread and one of the most popular versions of naan. It’s made with flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and dahi. Once the dough has been baked in a hot tandoor oven, the golden naan is taken out and brushed with butter or ghee, then topped with minced garlic.”

Recommending what it goes best with, the description further added, “It’s recommended to serve butter garlic naan with a variety of Indian dishes such as curries, butter chicken, dal makhani, malai kofta, or shahi paneer.”

Other Indian breads in Top 50 Breads in the World

If you thought it’s just Butter Garlic Naan to have made it to the list, wait till you see the other Indian breads that have grabbed a spot on the best in the world.

Everyone’s favourite Amritsari Kulcha bagged the second spot, while the South Indian bread Parotta grabbed the sixth spot. The other breads on the list are – Naan on the eighth spot, Paratha on the 18th spot, Bhatura, the 26th position.
There’s also Aloo Naan, which snagged the 28th spot, and the good ol’ Indian Roti on the 35th position.
