Many will remember the 70s through actors like Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna and others. However, one actor truly carved out a niche for himself and for several others, is who truly defined the 70s world of disco and glamour. With his acting and dancing skills, Mithun Chakraborty gave true competition to the then reigning stars and was an unstoppable force during the era.

The successes from his films propelled him to build a massive empire which is worth Rs 400 crores today as per ET Now. The legendary Bollywood star who is popularly referred to as Mahaguru which means ‘great teacher’ not only owns several luxury properties in India but also a chain of hotels called Monarch which only add to his already inflated net worth. A palatial bungalow in Ooty, a fleet of luxury cars which include a classic 1975 Mercedes Benz, and a sprawling farmhouse in Mumbai are just a few cherries on the icing.

About his next projects

The veteran superstar has recently been more focused on politics as he is a BJP party leader as well. However, he is scheduled for appearances in several movies next year which include a Rajinikanth-starrer titled Jailer, An untitled Bengali action movie, Telugu flick Fauji and Bengali movie Phirbo Abar.

Mithun Chakraborty was last seen prominently in Vivek Agnihotri’s Bengal Files, the final instalment in the Files trilogy. The Padma Bushan and National Award recipient is proof that one must not go gentle into the good night, but rage, rage, against the dying of the light.
