The couple’s pre-wedding festivities are scheduled to take place from March 1 to March 3 in Jamnagar, as per the invitation card circulating on social media. Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Nita and Mukesh Ambani, is set to tie the knot with Radhika Merchant, the daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant.
The engagement ceremony, rooted in traditional Gujarati customs like Gol Dhana and Chunari Vidhi, took place at the Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, in December 2022. Both families shared their joy through an official statement, stating, “Anant and Radhika have known each other for a few years, and today’s ceremony commences the formal journey of their marriage in the coming months. Both families seek the blessings and good wishes of everyone for Radhika and Anant as they start their journey of togetherness.”
Radhika Merchant:
Radhika, the daughter of Shaila and Viren Merchant, belongs to a family associated with Encore Healthcare, a leading pharmaceutical company valued at around Rs 2,000 crore, according to a DNA report. Viren Merchant, regarded as one of the country’s wealthiest businessmen, boasts an estimated net worth of Rs 755 crore. Shaila Merchant, the Managing Director of Encore Healthcare, shares in the family’s success.
Radhika pursued her education at Cathedral and John Connon Schools and École Mondiale World School before earning a degree in politics and economics from New York University. Anant Ambani, the youngest scion of Nita and Mukesh Ambani, graduated from Brown University and has played a significant role in the Reliance business since March 2020. Initially serving as a director on the Jio Platforms board, he later became a member of Reliance Retail Ventures in May 2022. Anant is responsible for overseeing Reliance’s energy businesses and its global operations in green energy, aligning with the company’s goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2035.
In 2023, Anant, along with his siblings Akash and Isha Ambani, assumed positions on the board of Reliance Industries. Although reports suggest they will not receive a salary, they will enjoy the benefits of being part of the company’s Board of Directors, akin to their mother Nita Ambani.
