Vietnam’s first automotive company VinFast is a name not many in India may be familiar with, but the company backed by Pham Nhat Vuong the richest person in the country, it seems the company is eyeing to enter one of the highly competitive but lucrative markets – India.
In fact, while VinFast is yet to formally announce its plans for India, the company has already started hiring people to take care of various functions. In a post on Linkedin, the company has called for applications for the following roles–
1.Sales Management: Dealer Manager, Sales Operation Manager, Sales Training Manager
2.Aftersales Service: Aftersales Service Deputy Director, Service Control Quality Manager, Aftersales Engineering Training Manager
3.Back Office: Legal Manager, Finance – Accounting Manager, Admin – HR Manager, Logistics Manager.
While there is no clarity on the company’s India management/leadership structure, at present, it is most likely that VinFast will look at recruiting an industry veteran to take charge of operations.
In fact, not many know, that Tata Technologies has helped VinFast for its secure OTA updates, while Tata AutoComp is supplying some components to the Vietnamese EV maker.
In terms of performance, VinFast may have barely sold less than 100,000 units globally, but in terms of valuation it is one of the largest automakers globally surpassing the likes of Ford Motor Co and GM.
