Magenta Mobility announced expansion of electric cargo four-wheelers, with a fleet of over 500 vehicles. The company is changing urban and intercity logistics while focusing on sustainable and efficient transportation.
Magenta Mobility: Electric 4-wheeler cargo
Magenta’s electric 4-wheeler cargo vehicles can cover up to 150 km on a single charge, making them ideal for long trips while reducing carbon emissions and fuel costs. Unlike most EVs that usually travel 100-120 km within cities, Magenta’s successful trials show that these vehicles are also suitable for longer intercity and interstate journeys.
Magenta Mobility, after expanding in the 3-wheeler EV segment with clients like Amazon, Flipkart, and BigBasket, is now expanding into the 4-wheeler market. The company has launched interstate routes such as Rajasthan-Haryana-Delhi (180 km) and Delhi-Haryana-UP (140 km), along with a 422-kilometer round trip service between Mumbai and Pune.
Maxson Lewis, Founder and CEO of Magenta Mobility, stated, “As India’s largest 4-wheeler EV cargo fleet operator, we are proud to lead the electric vehicle revolution. Our expansion into intercity and interstate logistics underscores our commitment to delivering sustainable and efficient transportation solutions. Slowly and steadily decarbonisation of logistics in the mid-mile and first-mile is becoming a reality”
Magenta Mobility: Key partnerships this year
In the beginning of this year, in February, Euler Motors, an electric vehicle company, extended their partnership with Magenta Mobility with an order of 2000 Hi-EV loads after successfully delivering 500 Hi-EVs. This marked four years of their partnership.
Euler Hi-Load EVs: The Euler HiLoad EVs come with a 13 kWh battery, offering an ARAI-certified range of 170 km (with a real-world range of 100-120 km). They have a 30% higher payload capacity of 688 kg. These “Made in India, Made for India” vehicles are designed for various uses across different terrains and weather, helping clients earn up to 30% more than other 3-wheel cargo vehicles in India.
Around the month of May, Switch Mobility, the electric vehicle division of Ashok Leyland, as part of the first product planning cycling initiative, signed an agreement with Magenta Mobility to supply 500 units of the mini electric truck IeV4.
In July this year, Magenta Mobility partnered with Tata Motors to deploy over 100 units of Tata Ace EV, which included 60 units of ACE EV and 40 units of ACE EV 1000. Both companies signed Mou in 2023 and targeted to deploy 500 units of Tata Ace EV.
Tata Ace EV: The Ace EV is powered by a 27kW (36hp) motor with 130Nm of torque, delivering excellent pickup and grade-ability, making it easy to climb even when fully loaded and features an EVOGEN powertrain with a 7-year battery warranty and a 5-year maintenance package. The battery supports both regular and fast charging for maximum uptime.
In the future, Magenta plans to add 10,000 EVs, including both three-wheelers and four-wheelers, in the next financial year. The company also aims to expand into new cities like Nashik, Nagpur, Vijayawada, Indore, and Kolkata. Magenta Mobility aims to provide greener transportation solutions for both urban and intercity routes.
