Lohum, one of India’s largest producer of sustainable energy transition materials through battery recycling & raw material refining, and battery repurposing, has announced the appointment of three industry stalwarts to strengthen its leadership team.
The company has onboarded veteran investor Sachin Maheshwari as Head of Corporate Development; Finance leader Nitin Goel as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and R&D leader Dr. Chidambaram Mandan as Vice-President & Head of R&D and Quality Control. This appointment it says is aimed at managing and sustaining Lohum’s rapidly growing scale and efficiency in the sunrise sector like energy and clean mobility space.
In his new role Dr. Mandan will focus on value addition through improving Recycling process efficiencies, lowering recycling process CO2 generation, and maximising material purity.
As Head of Corporate Development Maheshwari will oversee expansion opportunities both organically and inorganically through partnerships, M&A transactions, and strategic investments to accelerate growth globally for LOHUM;
Goel as CFO will drive the organisation’s finance strategy and support its growth ambitions.

Goel is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and Cost & Management Accountant (CMA), having held Senior Finance positions in both Public traded and private held companies for over 20 years. He joined from SABIC where he served as Director Finance and in the past held senior roles in UOP Honeywell, Kohler & Bosch.
Maheshwari has over 25 years of investing, operating, and entrepreneurial experience in India and the United States, and over 10 years of PE/VC experience. Earlier, he was the MD at Zephyr Peacock, a PE firm focused on India apart from holding senior-level positions at Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Opus Capital, both based in Silicon Valley (USA).
Dr. Mandan comes with over 20 years of experience in Chemical Catalysis, Renewable Energies, and Biofuels. Before joining Lohum, he was heading Precious Metal Based Catalysts R&D at Hindustan Platinum, where he developed and commercialised more than 65 Precious Metal Based catalysts for diverse chemical/pharmaceutical industries during his tenure. He has 26 International Peer Reviewed Publications including a Review on Algae to Oil, and 47 patent applications, including 25 granted so far.
