Delhi HC stays alleged cheating case against Hero MotoCorp’s Pawan Munjal

The Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Pawan Munjal on the allegation that he availed tax credits on fake bills generated by Hero MotoCorp.

The Delhi High Court has stayed the cheating case proceedings against Pawan Munjal, MD & CEO, Hero MotoCorp, as per media reports.

The Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Pawan Munjal on the allegation that he availed tax credits on fake bills generated by Hero MotoCorp. The report is said to have been filed on October 5.

The complaint was filed by Brains Logistics, which claimed that the accused colluded to “cheat and falsify the books … and manufactured fake month-wise bills debited against the complainant totaling Rs 5,94,52,525 ( Rs 5.95 crore) for 2009 and 2010.”

Responding to the reports, Hero MotoCorp had issued a statement “This is to inform that it is an old matter pertaining to the year 2009-10 with a disgruntled service provider, Brains Logistics (Promoter – Roop Darshan Pandey). It may also be noted that while the complainant has mentioned company officials in the complaint, however, no official has been named in the FIR. In 2013, Hero MotoCorp also registered an FIR against them and the matter is ongoing before the competent court.”

The Delhi High Court is set to hear the case on December 6, 2023.
