According to Cointelegraph, over 324,000 crypto users experienced phishing scams in 2023, with around $295 million in digital assets lost to crypto scammers.

Sources revealed that “2023 Wallet Drainers Report,” by  Scam Sniffer, a blockchain security platform, had analysed the trends surrounding drainers used in crypto phishing scams. The platform is expected to have mentioned that there was continued growth in phishing activities throughout 2023.

It is believed that Scam Sniffer also mentioned that even when drainers close down, “phishing gangs” take their business elsewhere. Furthermore, there seems to be no lack of platforms providing services for scammers, Cointelegraph added.

Scammers have managed to cross Google’s and X’s advertising guidelines, which reported that phishing websites have been able to publish paid Google Search and Twitter ads, Cointelegraph concluded.
