While the ongoing challenges with discretionary spending has a bleak outlook on the tech hiring for the financial year 2025, Quess Corp in a report said the rapid expansion of global capability centers and advancements in artificial intelligence can come to the rescue.

The report, Annual Digital Skills Report FY24, showed that 66% of the demand for technology skills in India is concentrated in the top 5 skill suites, including development, testing, design & engineering, and networking. Moreover, there has been a significant increase in demand for skills related to cloud (16%), cybersecurity (215%), and analytics (256%) between H1FY24 and H2FY24.


In terms of industries, manufacturing, retail, and healthcare are witnessing promising tech hiring trends. Manufacturing is diversifying into emerging areas such as semiconductors and electronics, while retail is leveraging technology to optimize operations and enhance customer experience. In healthcare, the digital revolution is driving the demand for tech talent to improve patient care and streamline administrative processes. On the geographies front, the South region dominates tech talent demand, accounting for 68% of hiring requests.

The report said Bengaluru and Chennai have emerged as the leaders in tech hiring, followed by Pune, Hyderabad, and NCR. Further, the report indicates a notable surge in AI-related job openings in tier 2 and 3 cities such as Jaipur, Gwalior, Haridwar, Jodhpur, Agra, and others.
