Basil Thampi In what appeared to be a toothless bowling attack, Basil Thampi emerged as a rare bright point for the Gujarat Lions. Drafted into the playing XI after seasoned campaigners like Praveen Kumar and Munaf Patel failed, Thampi picked up 12 wickets in 12 matches and even proved incisive in the death overs. Released by Kolkata Knight Riders, RPS bought the left-arm fast bowler for just 30 lakh and he is currently the second leading wicket-taker with 22 scalps to his name. Bought for Rs 10 lakhs by the Rising Pune Supergiant, he has scored 388 runs from 13 matches at a strike-rate of 149.80. (Source: IE image) Nathan Coulter-Nile Bought for 3.20 crore by the Kolkata Knight Riders Coulter-Nile was one of the most impressive fast-bowlers this season. Given a chance after Trent Boult's disappointing performances, he picked up 14 wickets from 7 matches proving the management right. (Source: AP) Manoj Tiwary Rising Pune Supergiant probably did the best business this season and that is one of the reasons why it made to the final.
