Kashmir transformed into a picturesque winter wonderland as fresh snowfall has blanketed Srinagar and several districts across the region. From Bandipora to Kupwara in the north and Budgam to Ganderbal in central Kashmir, a white layer has covered the landscape under the grip of ‘Chillai-Kalan’, the 40-day peak of harsh winter that started from December 21. Temperatures went down across the valley, with Pahalgam recorded a bone-chilling-7.8 degrees Celsius, turning it into the coldest place. Tourists were seen indulging themselves in skiing adventures as the mercury submerged to -6.6 degrees Celsius. The cold spell continues to cast its magic, here is the glimpse of the winter’s serene beauty.
