Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district was hit by a cloudburst on Tuesday which led to massive flash floods sweeping individuals, houses, hotels, and even villages in the area, especially Dharali. As of now four people are reported dead, but the number of casualties could likely go up. The pictures and videos that have surfaced of the tragedy are gut wrenching. While Kheer Ganga river can be seen overflowing, the accumulated debris has blocked the road to Gangotri. Videos from the area shows people shouting and running as the water kept getting closer. Although over 140 have been rescued by the Indian Army, NDRF, and SDRF, many are still reported to be missing, and so the rescue operations are on. Due to flash floods, most of the power and phone lines are down in the area. Here are some shocking photos that have emerged:
