In a big surprise, Pulkit Samrat's Sanam Re box office collections have beaten superstar Katrina Kaif starrer Fitoor by raking in Rs. 5.04 cr on opening day while its rival at the B.O. earned just Rs 3.61 crore in the same time period. Tellingly, the weekend and lifetime Sanam Re collections should also be higher than Fitoor. Sanam Re featured Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam and Urvashi Rautela while Fitoor featured Aditya Roy Kapur and Tabu. However, both films revolved around the central theme of love and with Valentine's Day round the corner, we decided to analyze which one of them would have an edge over the other at the box office in the days to come.
