‘Ghayal Once Again’ box office collections: Sunny Deol starrer’s sales rise to Rs 26.85 crore by day 4 in India

With the opening weekend behind it, 'Ghayal Once Again' box office collections started the working week with a massive plunge to the lowest take since release of just Rs 3.60 crore on day 4. That indicates Sunny Deol's desire to inspire as an anti-corruption crusader did not have enough power of conviction to persuade the masses to come to theaters to watch him take on the bad guys and script a dreamlike triumph of good over evil. With Monday's take, Ghayal Once Again earnings tally (net) rises to Rs 26.85 crore in domestic market, while the total (gross approx.) logged is at Rs 38.36 crore. Earlier, Sunny Deol starrer Ghayal Once Again box office collections rose to Rs 8.40 crore by day 3 (opening weekend), the best amount collected since Friday's release. Before that the film earned Rs 7.20 cr on day 1 and Rs 7.65 cr on day 2. The total (net) in India thereby rose to Rs 23.25 crore by day 3 while the tally (gross approx.) jumped to Rs 33.21 cr. After adding the foreign earnings to the total, Ghayal Once Again raked in Rs 38.35 crore during the crucial 3-day period. On day 1 (Friday) morning Ghayal Once Again got off to a slow start and many empty seats in theatres were seen. However, expectations wer that the occupancy rate would imrove during the evening as people got off work and families too headed for cinemas. But that did not come to pass. This booster shot was not big enough to catapult the movie into any opening day record. That shortcoming continues to haunt the movie well into its first week run as it signifies that the film did not impress those who saw it for them to give it the all-important word of mouth boost. Ghayal Once Again is a sequel to the tremendously powerful and successful 90's film Ghayal that had also featured Sunny Deol.
