2. Facebook gets in game with new sports hub: Facebook announced a drive on Thursday to be a place for sports with a new online hub for news and sharing on sporting events. The "Facebook Sports Stadium" will offer live updates of scores, posts from friends and commentators as well as information on where to watch games live. The new hub will be "a dedicated place to experience sports in real-time with your friends and the world," said product manager Steve Kafka in a blog post.

3. Delhi airport suspends sale of entry tickets for visitors: Sale of entry tickets for visitors will remain suspended at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here. Considering the present security scenario Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has issued an advisory for all Indian airports banning the entry of visitors and sale of entry tickets. In an release on Thursday, DIAL said the sale of entry tickets for visitors would remain suspended till further notice at the airport here.

5. Hike Messenger crosses 100 million users: Home-grown Hike Messenger on Thursday said it has crossed the 100-million user mark. "Crossing 100 million users is a milestone for us and we have achieved this magic number well ahead of our expectations," Hike Messenger Founder and CEO Kavin Bharti Mittal said in a statement. The company acquired 30 million additional users in just three months as it crossed 70 million users in October 2015, the statement said. Hike is now logging a monthly messaging volume of 40 billion messages, having doubled on messaging in a span of 5 months from 20 billion messages per month logged in August 2015, it added.

JLR becomes UK's largest car maker under Tata Motors: Jaguar Land Rover has become UK's largest car maker, a dramatic turnaround in the fortunes of the luxury car brand since it was overtaken by Tata Motors over seven-years-ago. It beat long-time industry leader Nissan to second place, building 489,923 cars in the UK in 2015 compared to the Japanese automotive giant's 476,589. "Britain is the beating heart of our business, so becoming the country's largest vehicle manufacturer is a remarkable achievement, demonstrating our steadfast commitment to the UK manufacturing sector," said Wolfgang Stadler, Jaguar Land Rover's (JLR) executive director of manufacturing.

Samsung unveils virtual reality headset, smartwatch in India: Handset market leader Samsung on Thursday unveiled its virtual reality headset, Gear VR, in India, priced at Rs 8,200 to cash in on the niche but growing category. Virtual reality (VR) technology immerses the user in a computer-generated simulation of an environment, allowing the user to interact in that world. The technology is creating a lot of buzz globally with technology giants like Google, Facebook and Microsoft working on creating a unique, immersive experiences for the end-users.

10. n-gage launches messaging app in India: Instant messaging app n-gage on Thursday launched its service in India to allow users to share content with competing platforms like WhatsApp and Viber, a move aimed at tapping into the booming mobile Internet userbase in India. "Developing the app has been a two year journey. The platform ensures security of users through the various features and at the same time, availability of the desktop version ensures that those without smartphones can use the platform," n-gage founder and CEO Ajit Patel told PTI.
