It’s been two weeks now after the much talked about big clash between Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani started in theatres after they released together on the same day. In a surprising turn at theaters Dilwale, which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, took an early lead in India earnings, but Bajirao Mastani, which boasts the presence of Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh, steadily whittled down the lead and is now well placed to emerge as the winner – domestically, that is. We present here a comparative look at the box office collections of both films in terms of their second weekend collections. (AP)

A point that needs to be remembered here is that the entries are for comparative purposes only and do not represent the ranking. Interestingly, with good reviews and positive word of mouth Bajirao Mastani, that lagged behind Dilwale during the opening days, has managed to surpass the latter as the days progressed. In fact Bajirao Mastani that collected Rs 34.3 crore over its second weekend has managed to surpass not just Dilwale that collected Rs 21.23 crore but also Salman Khan’s Kick that collected Rs 34.02 crore in the same time frame. Further, when the second Weekend collections of both films is compared to the first weekend, Dilwale has shown a drop of approximately 67% whereas Bajirao Mastani has shown a drop of approximately just 26%. In essence proving that as time progressed, that when released, Dilwale was the audiences’ first choice, has now taken the back seat, losing out to Bajirao Mastani. (Express Photo)

When put in terms of numbers, Bajirao Mastani has done approximately 61% more business than Dilwale in the second weekend – icing on the cake for Eros International, makers of Bajirao. (Express Photo)
