IPL auction 2018: The auction for the 11th edition of Indian Premier League 2018 saw 578 players going under the hammer in Bengaluru. The franchises went hammers and tongs against each other as soon as the 16 marquee players list were announced. The bidding war was started by Shikhar Dhawan who although was won by Kings XI Punjab, however, Sunrisers Hyderabad used the Right-to-match card and retained the Indian batsman for Rs 5.2 crore. Interestingly, the council has also hiked the salary budget from previous Rs 66 crore to Rs 80 crore. Also, the council have introduced the Right-to-match (RTM) card, using which the franchises can get those players back who represented them previously.
