Samsung has officially unveiled its latest smartphone, the Galaxy S25, in India on Wednesday. J B Park, President & CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, confirmed that the device will be manufactured at the company’s Noida plant. The Bengaluru-based R&D centre, the largest outside South Korea, played a significant role in developing the S25 series, particularly in enhancing its Galaxy AI features.
The new Galaxy S25 series comprises three variants: Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25. With these models, Samsung aims to solidify its foothold in the super-premium smartphone segment, which is priced above USD 800 and faces stiff competition from Apple.
The devices are equipped with a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy chipset, designed to deliver enhanced processing power, especially for AI features. Samsung has also made significant upgrades to the camera system, featuring next-gen ProVisual technology that promises superior imaging capabilities.
Pricing and Variants
The Galaxy S25 series is priced starting at Rs 80,999 for the base model, which includes 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The top-end Galaxy S25 Ultra is priced at Rs 1.65 lakh, featuring 12GB RAM and a massive 1TB storage.
The Galaxy S25+ is available for Rs 99,999 for the 256GB storage variant, while the 512GB storage option is priced at Rs 1,11,999. Samsung has also teased the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge model, though pricing and release details have yet to be revealed. Experts speculate it will be priced similarly to the Galaxy S24.
AI-Powered Features for Indian Consumers
In his address, J B Park expressed confidence that the Galaxy S25 will surpass the popularity of its predecessor, the S24 series. Samsung has refined its AI features, particularly the “Circle to Search” function, which is now faster and more context-aware.
Park highlighted that Indian consumers are some of the highest users of Galaxy AI features, such as Circle to Search and Call Assist. The updated Circle to Search now allows users to quickly recognize phone numbers, emails, and URLs on the screen, enabling one-tap actions like calling, emailing, or visiting websites.
Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series looks set to make a significant impact in the Indian market, thanks to its advanced AI capabilities, impressive camera technology, and premium design.
