Vodafone has introduced a new recharge pack that offers 1GB 3G/ 4G data per day, unlimited local, national, and roaming outgoing calls at Rs 158. The Vodafone Rs 149 recharge plan takes on the prepaid packs revised by Airtel and Idea Cellular to match up with Jio’s onslaught. This pack is only available in the Kerala circle without any information on further rollout plans. The Vodafone customers in Kerala circles can head to Vodafone’s website or My Vodafone app to purchase the tariff.
The Vodafone Rs 158 recharge pack, as we said, will benefit customers with 1GB daily 3G/ 4G data and unlimited calls. However, there is no SMS benefit in the pack, as opposed to most of the combo plans available to date. This pack offers 1GB data per day to the customers, totalling 28GB for a validity of 28 days. It should be noted that unlike Jio’s unlimited data and calling plans, customers will be charged post the exhaustion of given data limit. The unlimited calls in the Rs 158 pack come with a limit of 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week.
The newly announced Rs 158 pack brings Vodafone to the war against Jio, Airtel, and Idea Cellular. Airtel and Idea both lowered the price of their tariff plans recently to counter Jio’s recently announced offer that gives customers 50 percent more data at Rs 50 lower price. Airtel introduced Rs 149 plan while Idea silently upped its Rs 149 plan to offer 1GB data per day, unlimited calls, and 100 SMSes per day for 28 days. Jio, on the other hand, currently provides 1.5GB 4G data at Rs 149 that gives customers unlimited 4G VoLTE calls and 100 SMSes per day for 28 days, as well. In addition, all the recharge packs from Jio benefit the customers with complimentary free subscription to Jio apps.
