Vivo launched the V40e—the third smartphone in the V40 series—in India today. The V40e has the same design and shares a few hardware specs with the V40. The ZEISS camera branding has been dropped to make way for a more affordable device.

The V40e comes in a choice of 8GB/128GB and 8gb/256GB at a price of Rs 28,999 and Rs 30,999, respectively.

Spec-wise, the V40e has a 6.78-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor and a 5,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging. Running the show is Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 with a guarantee of getting three years of major OS and four years of security updates.
For photography, the V40e has a dual camera setup on the rear with a 50-megapixel wide (Sony IMX882) and another 8-megapixel ultrawide. The front camera is a 50-megapixel with autofocus.
The V40e comes in a choice of Royal Bronze and Mint Green.
The launch of the V40e comes just a few days after the T3 Ultra. The T3 Ultra brings the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus processor at a starting price of Rs 31,999.
