Ever wondered how much Uber employees earn? We aren’t referring to the daily wages of the Uber can drivers – this is about how much the corporate employees earn in a year. The answer is rather impressive, considering the data obtained by Business Insider from the H-1B visa filings. With Uber’s management wanting it to become a new ‘super app’, similar to what Elon Musk envisioned for Twitter a couple of years ago, a new hiring strategy is bringing in a growing corporate workforce, thereby allowing for expanding the corporate workforce.
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has confirmed the company is “slowly moving towards a super app of sorts.” The company has taken a more cautious approach to hiring in recent years but is still actively recruiting. In the first half of this year, Uber revealed it wanted to hire nearly 500 workers through the H-1B visa program, an increase from the roughly 350 filings made during the same period in the previous year.
The most common roles that Uber sought were data scientists, operations research analysts, and software developers. The salary information, required by the US Department of Labour for all foreign hires, provides a transparent look at the base compensation for these key positions.
It’s important to note that these figures do not account for other forms of compensation, such as equity or bonuses.
