The iPhone 6 Plus will no longer be eligible for any hardware repairs, Apple has announced. In tech parlance, it means that the iPhone 6 Plus has reached its end of life and is officially “obsolete” now. It was launched in 2014 and stopped receiving software updates in 2019 following the rollout of iOS 13. It had become “vintage” in 2022.

Apple has simultaneously added the iPad Mini 4 from 2015 to the vintage category. The (PRODUCT) RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have also been added to the vintage list, though the announcement does not impact other colour options. The vintage classification means repairs are offered for another two years subject to the availability of parts.

So, in case you’re still holding on to any of these devices, it’s time to retire then and move on and get yourself more current devices with more active support both hardware and software.
