Samsung is tipped to launch its next major Galaxy S flagship lineup, Galaxy S24 series, earlier than usual. Korean state media is reporting that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, on January 17, 2024. The unveiling will reportedly take place during an on-ground event in San Francisco. If true, this would be a 2-on-2 for Samsung as the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip line-up was also launched a bit earlier than usual this year.

Many online reports claim that Samsung’s partners have started mass production of the Galaxy S24 series phones, aka Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra at the time of writing, possibly gearing up for an early release. Reliable tipster Max Jambor who goes by the handle @MaxJmb on X (previously Twitter), has added fuel to the speculation by confirming the purported January 17 launch window for the Galaxy S24 series.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S23 line-up with Titanium frames, taking cues from Apple, and a choice of Qualcomm and Exynos chipsets. Though it was missing from the recently concluded Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii, it is almost a given for the Galaxy S23 line-up to come powered by the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

According to reports, while the top-shelf Galaxy S24 Ultra will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with the “for Galaxy” tuning, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus models are expected to be split up into Qualcomm and Exynos versions depending on market. This year’s Galaxy S23 line-up came with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 by default regardless of the market so we’ll just have to wait and watch out for how things pan out for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra in the days to come.

If at all the launch date being reported comes out to be accurate, we can expect Samsung to start teasing the Galaxy Unpacked event shortly. Stay tuned for more updates.
